New Test: Is your child ready for First Grade?

The preschooler, the 6 year-old child is about to take the step towards Elementary School. He/she feels happy, his/her parents feel proud, and grandparents comment on this event: “Now you are a big boy/girl my love!!!You have become a clever child, you have learnt so much, you will be the leader in class, you will correct the teacher! We are proud of you!” Such comments and other similar ones are usually made!

Are preschoolers ready to go to First Grade though? “Maturity does not follow age at the same pace! The “ready” preschooler will surely go to First Grade just like all children after Kindergarten. But the less “ready” preschooler will take advantage of his chance to stay one more year at Kindergarten. In that way he/she will become more mature, he/she will gain self-confidence and self-respect.”, Marianna Lagoumidi, (specialist in Learning Difficulties) suggests.

Here is a questionnaire for parents of children about 6 years old. We suggest you to fill it in and send it to info@i-paidi.gr. The following 3 days you will receive a sample diagnosis for your child as a GIFT from our website i-paidi.gr.
